- Please note that we use bulk email , facebook messenger, and text to contact our clients and we suggest that you check them regularly to ensure that you do not miss announcements that may concern you/your child.
- ARRIVAL TIMES
- All lessons please arrive at your scheduled lesson time.
- Group Lessons : Check the lesson board in the tack room for horse assignments.
- LESSON PROGRAM
- INDIVIDUAL LITTLE RIDER PRIVATES: Ages 4-6. A private lesson 1-on-1 with an instructor where your child learns how to be balanced and safe on a horse's back. Fun and safety are the number one priorities for these half hour (30 minute) lessons. 30 minutes ride time and 30 minutes grooming /horsemanship skills.
- INTRODUCTORY/NOVICE LESSONS: Walk/Trot/Groundpoles: 6 and up. Perfect for the rider with little to no experience and are new to riding. Basic skills, steering, and safety are the focus for these lessons. Riders must be able to ride and steer unassisted to be eligible to move into group lessons. 30-45 minutes private/semi-private (1- 2 people) or 1 hour (up to four people) in a group lesson.
- BEGINNER LESSONS: Walk/Trot/Canter/Groundpoles/Crossrails: Perfect for the rider preparing to canter or cantering. Students at this level are responsible for the entire horse care process, including grooming, tacking, untacking and cooling out their horse. 30-45 minutes private/semi-private (1- 2 people) or 1 hour (up to four people) in a group lesson.
- GROUP LESSONS: Int-Adv Lessons are open to students who are cantering courses of 18"and up. Students are grouped by their skill level and jump height. Group lessons are 1 hour or more and students are responsible for independently tacking as well as the entire horse care process before and after the lessons.
- FIRST LESSON
- Before your first lesson you must turn in signed lesson policies, completed rider information, signed waiver, make first month’s payment and deposit.
- HELMETS
- ALL RIDERS MUST HAVE THEIR OWN HELMET. WE DO NOT PROVIDE HELMETS.
- PAYMENT
- Lesson fees are due on the 1st of each month and are paid through our online payment center only.
- If payment is not received by the 7th of the month, a $20.00 late fee will be automatically added to your account and account may face suspension.
- Lesson Scheduling
- At the start of your Monthly Package you will be assigned a set day and time. See your Instructor if you need your day or time of your lessons changed.
- MAKE-UP AND ABSENCE POLICY
- Only 1 Barn Cancelled Weather make-up will be issued per package per month. NO Exceptions!!
- Refunds and makeups are not given for any reason (including sick, vacations ect) other than the barn issued ones.
- If going on vacation please notify us of the upcoming dates of lessons that will be missed.
- INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
- In case of inclement weather, contact the stable or your instructor for class status. We will occasionally offer horsemanship lessons on these days where students will learn valuable unmounted skills.
- LESSON ATTIRE AND TACK
- All riders must have an ASTM/SEI Approved Riding Helmet (CEC Does NOT provide Helmets.)
- Paddock boots or shoes with a heel, tight fitted pants or jeans, and high thick socks or half chaps to prevent stirrup leathers from rubbing.
- All Tack must be cleaned after EACH ride.
- TACKING/UNTACKING/GROOMING
- All horses are to be groomed before and after the lessons. Plan to stay 30 minutes or more after your lesson to cool your horses out, bath (when warm, sponge (when cool), or use a cooler (when cold), feed, and turnout (if they are going out). Check with your instructor for specific instructions.
- All grooming and tacking areas are to be left neat and tidy. Make sure you clean up behind yourself and your horse including removing any manure.
- TERMINATION/EXTENDED LEAVE
- If you plan to discontinue/take a break from lessons, 30 days written notice is required submitted on or before the first of the month.
